About Alpacas

Alpacas are small camelid mammals raised by the ancient Incas of South America over 6000 years ago. Alpacas made their dainty way among the mountains of Peru, Chile and Bolivia where clothing was made from their hair, although similar in many ways alpacas are smaller than the llama, they are characterised by small heads, big eyes, flame shaped ears that can stand up and long necks.

About us

Llwyn Y Brain Alpacas is a family run business situated in the tranquil countryside of South Wales. We have been caring and breeding Alpaca's since 2021, they are delightfully friendly, intelligent, curious and gentle animals and we look forward to introducing you to our extended family when you visit.

Joe

2 year old dark fawn male who has plenty of experience with encounters, he walks very well on a halter and has an inquisitive nature. He’ll happily eat feed out of the hand and is very good at guiding the others if needed.

Kinsman

1 year old white male who has been part of a recent show team. He’s been to various shows such as Spring Festival, Chepstow Show, Vale of Glamorgan and the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show. Despite his young age he is confident and outgoing, he loves his food but takes a bit more warming up to others, once he’s comfortable he is your best friend … as long as you feed him.

Graphite

5 year old silver grey male who has been part of various show teams and wedding events since he was 1 years old. He walks very well on a halter and is a general good boy. He loves his food and will happily eat from the hand. Graphite is a calm and gentle natured soul, with a lovely soft fleece that just invites lots of cwtches.
